Tourism businesses across the South West have shown their continued commitment to excellence, with nearly 600 entries submitted to the 2026 Tourism Awards – an increase of almost 14% on last year.
All four regional schemes saw growth, with Dorset recording the biggest percentage increase, with entries up 22%, closely followed by Bristol, Bath, Somerset & Gloucestershire, up 21%. Devon entries increased by 12%, while Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly increased by 3%.
Judging is now underway, with an independent panel of past winners, industry leaders and experts assessing entries.
The first round considers the entry forms alongside businesses’ websites, online presence and reviews. Selected businesses will then progress to the second stage, which may include a judging visit or mystery shop.
Finalists will be announced ahead of four awards ceremonies this autumn: Dorset on 22 October, Cornwall on 12 November, Bristol, Bath, Somerset & Gloucestershire on 26 November and Devon on 3 December.
All entrants will receive feedback, with eligible winners in VisitEngland core categories potentially selected to represent their area in the national VisitEngland Awards in 2027.
