Showcasing key locations across the Great Western network the television advert aims to inspire customers to Be a Great Westerner and to take advantage of the beautiful destinations on our own doorstep.

First Great Western is also offering one lucky customer a free rail pass for a year to compliment the brand new multi-million pound campaign to inspire travel across the Great Western network and to Be a Great Westerner.

The new TV advert, featuring destinations in Devon, Cornwall, Bristol, Bath Spa and suburban London will be screened from 1730 on Friday 6 June.

First Great Western Head of Marketing Philip Edgerton said:
“We at First Great Western are extremely lucky to have the region that we serve. Not only do we have some of the most beautiful coastline in the country, but we also have some of its most vibrant cities.
“The South West was badly affected by flooding at the beginning of the year and this campaign, adding to our range of deals and offers with local attractions, aims to reconnect travellers with the area.

“What better way to begin your summer holiday, or a weekend away from hustle and bustle, than to jump on board a train, relax and let us keep you moving?”

The advert features as part of a 10 week multi-channel campaign using billboards, radio, digital, newspapers and paid search. Through a partnership with the Evening Standard/London Live this also includes a digital hub hosted on The Evening Standard website, featuring bespoke travel footage presented by travel journalist Simon Calder.

Additionally, through the London Live site, FGW is delighted to offer one lucky winner free travel for a year - worth tens of thousands of pounds. Please click here for more information.

The prize is for one Great Western rail pass for one person with an option to include one guest on each journey. Terms and conditions apply.

The campaign builds on the recent launch of Great Western Offers, providing an incentive for customers to visit the South West with super savings and great deals on a host of hotels and local attractions.
